Heartbreak
I don’t think anything can quite pain a parent as much as seeing their child in pain. But what lessons are we here to teach them? Do we shelter them from every possible point of hurt or pain or are we here to let them feel real feelings but at the same time help them understand their feelings and guide them to the point understanding how to process those feelings. Emotional intelligence has for long been suppressed in men in particular, not allowing young boys to experience their feelings under the guise of “toughen up”, “be a man”. This approach unfortunately can lead to many complications as they move through life, our bodies can be our greatest guides and if we suppress what we feel, we can never truly experience the life we were meant to live.
