Hanging out

We went on an early morning hike today and literally stumbled into this guy. He was dangling from a tree on a very fine thread, I just managed to avoid walking into him which made for an interesting time of trying to capture a photograph. Being only about 20mm long the auto focus on the camera just couldn’t find focus. I switched to manual which worked well but the problem was the caterpillar was moving in the wind and would move in and out of focus. In hindsight I should have use the burst function on the camera which would have probably got better focus on the subject, another day out another lesson learned.
