Discovering Magnification

After doing a few closeups this morning of a locket and a harmony ball I wanted to discover which one of my lenses would be best for the task. I know it’s a case of putting the cart before the horse but with every shoot I do, there is always a question in the back of my mind, how could I make it better. So with a quick google search I was able to discover that my 24-70mm lens offered 0.30x at 32mm, this is quite an improvement over the 0.23x I was getting with my other lens. Still this is nowhere near macro capabilities but it’s nice to know which tool in my kit would be best to use should the situation arise agin. I had some jewelry on my desk waiting to be untangled so I tried to get a bit creative using the new setup. Realising I have to post two images every day for the rest of the year might become a bit repetitive if I don’t find new subject matter, having these set of objectives will undoubtedly force me to expand creativity in my subject matter through the remainder of the year.
