Necessary evil

20/20 vision except when it comes to close up. Short sightedness I believe, it seems like these glasses become inevitable as time passes by and the years tick over. A bit of a personal observation, I noticed my eyesight deteriorate the most over the last year. I picked up a habit of smoking cigarettes particularly in the last year and I noticed how when I went through stages of excessive smoking, how it would affect my vision. With a quick google search I read that smoking can cause age-related macular degeneration (AMD), I would have to agree that smoking in my case definitely accelerated this process and is probably just one of the side effects of cigarette smoke. I am happy to say that I have kicked my bad habit and am hoping to see some sort of a recovery in my eyesight over the next few months.
