Chasing Light

New year’s day 2025 and I thought a great way to start the year would be to capture a beautiful sunset. On the high veld in South Africa this is an almost daily occurrence, but not today. It was starting to drizzle so I took a drive around the area looking for a nice scenic spot, hoping for a clearing in the clouds to render some interesting light on the landscape. Up on a hill I managed to capture this image of the grassy veld with my partner unaware she was forming part of the scene. Working in these conditions must prove quite challenging for professionals who are forced to create beautiful images in not the most idyllic conditions but I suppose with enough practice and understanding, anything is possible.
