Breaking Through

We can go through stages of uncertainty for what feels like an eternity, trying to rise up, seeing the warmth of the light through the cracks but not quite being able to reach it. We put one foot forward at a time, tackling the simplest tasks so we can just feel a sense of moving closer to our destination. Within these small steps we get unsettled and frustrated as to why we just can’t get there, impatience takes over, imposter syndrome is rife and stagnation sets in. What we fail to realise is that every step is growth, it may not feel that way but each movement is a conscious choice, by you, for you. Each one, no mater how insignificant gets you a notch further ahead on your path, one notch further than you would have been if you had not gotten up and done that seemingly insignificant task. It’s the small tasks that build up to the big tasks. Picture hitting the gym, going and lifting the biggest weights is not the smartest move, yes you could probably do it but the repercussions would put you 10 steps further back. If you had to hit the gym regularly, building up more and more strength on a daily basis, you would have built the strength within yourself to to lift those heavy weights, only this time it won’t risk injury but rather feel part of a normal daily routine. If you are fighting to find your way through the cracks, exercise your muscle daily, the muscle of showing up for yourself in any which way you can, those small repetitions will build the strength within you to break through.
