Size Matters

Don’t get me wrong, I love my tools but some extra length would sure come in handy. I tried to photograph some bright orange birds on the side of the road but as I tried to get close enough to get a decent shot, they flew away. This has happened a few times as I am shooting with a 200mm focal length lens, from what I’ve researched 500mm and more tends to be better suited to birds and wildlife. I decided to stay exactly where I had stoped and started taking random photos of pretty much anything in reach and actually walked away with some really interesting photos. Im starting to realise more and more that you don’t necessarily need to travel to find subject matter, its all around, its just a matter of looking at it from a different perspective. This butterfly was my first take and it sat nice and still as I was able to get up really close.
